The html for this example was created in Rstudio using the knitr package from this source file, which has an "Rmd" (for "R markdown") extension. To compile it in Rstudio, simply save the .Rmd file somewhere, open it in the editor window of Rstudio, and click the "knit" button.- Xiaotian Zhu has a nice series of slides illustrating the MM algorithm idea that were part of his PhD dissertation defense talk.
