The Brightest Planetary Nebulae
NGC 7027 is the most luminous planetary nebula in the Milky Way.
Yet its center star is barely visible, due both to the brightness of
the nebula and the fact the most of the central star's energy comes
out in the ultraviolet. As with many bright PN, NGC~7027's morphology is
classified as bi-polar.
